Senior Climate & Sustainability Project Manager

We are looking for a Senior Sustainability Project Manager to join our rapidly growing Western USA geography. Based in Los Angeles (or San Francisco or Oakland), you will be responsible for growing work and delivering transformational advisory and design projects for key clients across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

 Your work will range from managing sustainability and decarbonization scopes for individual or portfolios of buildings, infrastructure, and communities. Other projects may include circular economy, social value, resilience. This role requires an understanding of the impact of built environment on climate change and opportunities for decarbonization.

Responsibilities include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Managing projects in the sustainability service area
  • Technical contribution to the delivery of sustainability projects
  • Developing quality relationships with clients
  • Collaborating with the Sustainability Discipline Leader to coordinate on future team growth and skills development.
  • Actively participating in business development and supporting and leading bids for sustainability services in the West Geography
  • Growing the sustainability services annual revenue and projects delivered
  • Supervising and mentoring staff and fostering a vibrant and collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field
  • 8 years of professional experience in the built environment with a focus on sustainability, especially decarbonization assessment, strategy, and implementation
  • Professional Licensure or accreditation in appropriate field (PE, RA, LEED AP)
  • Project management experience for the delivery of a broad suite of climate and sustainability services along with experience building and leading a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  •  Ability to use standard office software.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field
  •  Experience working in an Architecture/Engineering/Construction company.
  •  Active engagement in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry through committees, working groups, and volunteer professional organizations.
  •  Demonstrated connectivity with the Los Angeles Metro market (or alternative locations in San Francisco or Oakland)
  •  Deep technical knowledge in a climate and sustainability service area

LA hiring range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $120,000 to $145,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of California will differ.
