Lia Cohen is the Outreach and Planning Fellow at Climate Resolve. A lifelong Angeleno and San Fernando Valley native, she is interested in the role that policy, advocacy, lawmaking, community-building, art and entrepreneurship can play in creating a more just world.
At Climate Resolve, Lia supports projects that advance climate action and environmental justice in Los Angeles and across the state. She’s currently helping develop a Community Resilience and Access Plan for the Baldwin Hills Parklands, conducting outreach work for LADWP’s energy efficiency programs, and supporting the statewide Partners Advancing Climate Equity program, among other projects.
Before joining Climate Resolve, Lia worked as an organizer for the Ohio Coordinated Campaign, mobilizing turnout in a key swing state during the 2020 election on behalf of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats up and down the ballot.
Lia graduated summa cum laude from UCLA in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies and minors in Public Affairs and Environmental Systems and Society. When she’s not working, Lia loves making music, playing basketball, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her friends and very large family. She is happiest when surrounded by lots of good food and people that she loves. Lia is excited to be working at an organization that fosters community and climate solutions in her hometown.
