Bio:
Wendy Ayala is the Outreach and Communications Fellow at Climate Resolve through the Climate Corps Americorps program. She grew up in South Central Los Angeles. Wendy understands the importance of climate education and how it needs to be accessible for everyone. She is striving to connect with her local community to assist in the work for climate resiliency.
Before Climate Resolve, she graduated from UC Berkeley in 2022 with a degree in Society and Environment and a minor in Global Poverty and Practice. Wendy was a mentor and co-director with Berkeley Unified in Literacy Development where she mentored elementary-aged students in their reading in West Oakland. She held a Research and Communications position with a food justice non-profit organization, Food Shift, where she had the opportunity to focus on communication work and JEDI practices. Wendy also held a research internship position with UC Berkeley’s Latinx and the Environment Initiative where she was able to provide environmental education to elementary and middle school students.
Outside of work, Wendy enjoys music, boba runs, trying new delicious foods, and appreciates the beauty of nature from flowers to the sky. She is a fan of the color lavender and you’ll alway find her with a lavender item!
