Climate Solutions Officer (Contractor)

Bio:

Seth Jacobson leads Climate Resolve’s Solutions Services practice to develop and implement innovative climate solutions in collaboration with disadvantaged communities and other key program partners. Seth has provided leadership for Climate Resolve’s design, launch, and growth of the following initiatives:

  • Shine On: Managing science-based research, advocacy, and projects with high-albedo cool roofs, walls, and pavement products that safely reflect sunlight to mitigate urban heat island effects & return more solar energy back to space
  • Climate Smart Schools: Helping school districts implement building & transportation electrification, energy resilience, zero net energy retrofits, water conservation, and climate literacy.
  • GHG Offset Projects: Originating, developing, and managing voluntary carbon offset projects for private sector partners, including the development of offset methodologies for approval by reputable registries. 
  • Green Finance + Heat Pump Research: Assessing the potential to use green finance to scale heat pump retrofit projects for affordable housing apartment buildings.
  • Ready for Tomorrow: Providing no-cost grant writing assistance for municipalities, community-based organizations, and tribal entities to fund local climate action.
  • And other innovative Energy & Water programs.

In addition to working for Climate Resolve, Seth is Co-founder/CEO of Post & BIM, an internet startup in the construction technology space. Previously, Seth was a Senior Vice President at Palmer Capital, where he financed and developed more than 16 MW of renewable energy projects. He was also the Co-founder/Executive Director of the Green Coast Foundation, a nonprofit organization promoting renewable energy in California. A native Angeleno, Seth is a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy and serves as a Senior Fellow at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
